Queen Masalanabo Modjadji VII is the first reigning Balobedu queen to pass her matriculation, achieving a high enough grade to get admission to a university.
What a magnificent performance by her Royal Majesty, she is a Tough African queen with education, she sits majestically on her throne. What an inspiration millions of African girls.
Her accomplishment comes in the wake of another historic moment when President Cyril Ramaphosa officially recognized her as the Queen of the Balobedu people. The chief royal councillor of the Balobedu Royal Nation, Dr. Mathole Motshekga, said that the Queen’s greatest accomplishment during her matriculation was playing sports, which gave her the opportunity to interact and form bonds with people from different cultural backgrounds.
“She found sports to be incredibly valuable in building connections with people from different cultures, and this exposure has empowered her. As she returns home to assume her role as queen, she plans to leverage this experience and collaborate with the government to promote nation-building initiatives,” said Motshekga. Queen Masalanabo intends to pursue her education in social development or law because she feels that these fields will provide her the information and abilities she needs to support the advancement of the Balobedu people. Everyone back home was excitedly awaiting the Queen’s coronation, which is set to take place in Balobedu in March 2025, Motshekga continued, adding that they were incredibly proud of her accomplishments.
