The history, culture, and politics of Africans on the continent as well as African-descended people in the Caribbean, South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East are examined by the African and African Diaspora Studies Program (AADS). Students are introduced to the richness and diversity of the African Diaspora and the global context that we all share through AADS, which covers a variety of historical eras and geographical areas. The program integrates a variety of strategies from disciplines like English, history, art history, sociology, philosophy, religion, communication, political science, and music, all while using interdisciplinary and comparative perspectives.
